In 1983 and 1984, during his apprenticeship, as previously mentioned, Peter Bührer wrote his first cookbook. The book was all about asparagus (Spargel - Einfach Spitze) and gained the gastronomy legend Harry Schraemli to write the introduction.

After the success of this book, Peter worked on his second book about old traditional Swiss Cuisine (Schweizer Spezialitäten - Alte Originalrezepte) and having Henry Haller, Chef de Cuisine of the White House, writing the introduction of the book. Than he continue working on own books as well as the books of Agnes Amberg.

Over the time, Peter Bührer published more than 40 additional titles and editions. All of them were edited in German, and a few of them have been translated into Spanish, English and French.

Peter covered all the production steps, from writing, styling, food photography to graphic design.
